Duncan is part of the visionary driving force behind the formation of askhule
and remains at the core of the partners' vision for relevant, up to the minute, client-centred training initiatives within the active broadcast, film and audio production industry.
Formerly a senior IT executive, with a passion for music and audio, Duncan has lived his dream by developing a thriving commercial recording studio, the Loerie Award-winning SHILLING FOX
, equipped with a Pro Tools HD|3 rig and D-Command. SHILLING FOX is 5.1 ready and able to handle all manner of music creation, sound design, recording, mixing, mastering, post sync work and composition. Duncan's clients include various local and international film, television and new media companies as well as advertising agencies, record labels and performing artists. Long in demand as a trainer in corporate audio engineering, Duncan is also an expert-level AVID-certified Pro Tools instructor with a passion for developing an industry of which South Africa can be justly proud. As a life-long learner himself, Duncan has just completed a post-graduate diploma in business management (PGDip) as part of an MBA journey at Africa's top business school GIBS.
Duncan, along with colleagues Keith Davies and Tinus Smit, developed and implemented the original vision for a training team capable of offering “live” talent to the industry – that is, trainers who themselves are successful in the field and who remain active within the industry. His wide knowledge of business management and communication is essential in giving direction and structure to askhule
. Duncan believes that if you're passionate about something, get on with it and make it happen – and for our clients that means a trainer with a powerful capacity to motivate and encourage as well as to instruct.
